“Sia?” Nathan’s worried voice came as soon as she picked up the call. “What happened? How are you feeling? Your hospitalization was broadcast all over the news channels. Shall I come to see you?” “Thanks to your fiancee, Rose, I almost died, Nathan.” Sia sneered instead, ignoring his fake concerns. “What are you talking about, Sia? Rose has been in the hospital and haven’t left all this time.” “She doesn’t have to leave her bed to get her dirty work done, does she? I was kidnapped at my Grandfather’s tombstone, you can’t brush that as coincidence.”
“There has to be some sort of a misunderstanding. Rose… That’s not the type of person she is.” Nathan said adamantly trying to defend his girlfriend.
Sia scoffed at Nathan’s ridiculous excuse. Can someone tell her how she managed to fall in love with such a blind man?
“Poor Nathan, does your left hand still hurt on rainy days?”
Nathan froze, shocked as if he had been struck by lightning.
“How did you know about that. Sia? Who told you?”
“That, you’ll have to ask your sweet angel, Rosalind.”
Sia hung up the phone when she finished speaking, in order to stop him from calling again, she went ahead and blocked him..
The seeds of doubt had already been planted in his mind, and they would soon take root.
Nathan looked at the phone when Sia hung up. He tried calling again, but it wasn’t going through. Thousand questions swarmed in his head, at last, Nathan made up his mind and went straight to the hospital.
Rose had recovered after a month of treatment. She was sitting on the bed when Nathan entered her room, she plastered her signature smile.
“Nathan, you’re finally here. I think I’m losing my mind out of boredom. When I get out of the hospital, will you take me on a trip?”
“Alright, but first, you have to answer my questions. There are a lot of things I don’t understand.” Nathan said observing Rose.
“Um, okay? What do you not understand?”
“Sia was hospitalized at the same time Tom disappeared, what happened? And don’t tell me that these have nothing to do with you.” Rose’s smile faltered at Nathan’s accusations, she frowned.
“Sia had tried to contact you, didn’t she, Nathan? You know she still loves you, she hates me for taking you from her. You shouldn’t be fooled by her deceitful words.”
“Stop avoiding my question, Rosalind! I asked you what happened to Thomas and Sia?!”
Nathan’s voice gradually increased until he was almost shouting. Rose’s body trembled in fright realizing how serious Nathan was.
“I informed Thomas about Sia’s whereabouts. I knew she’d visit grandpa on his anniversary, she always does. So what if I did?”
“Did you just hear yourself, Rose? You did that to your own sister and all you can say is so what? When did you become this vicious?”
Nathan was highly disappointed, this was a completely different side to the girl he knew.
“You think I’m vicious? You left me no choice!”
Rose opened the bedside drawers and took out some photos.
“You think I don’t know what you did? I have evidence of every time you two met in private. You claim to only love me, Nathan, yet you still spend time with Sia.”
“You had someone to spy on me?” Nathan asked, eyeing the photo with a mixture of bafflement, confusion and disgust.
“Don’t you dare trip me! I’ve only done this to defend my own happiness!”
“Fine! Back to my questions, why did you divulge everything between us to Sia?”
Nathan asked the real question that’s been bothering him ever since his phone call with Sia. There’s no way Sia would know his left hand hurts whenever it rains unless Rose had told her that.
“What have I divulged to Sia?” Rose asked, confused.
Nathan’s face matched Rosie’s confused one as he studied her reaction. Had she not really told Sia that she had saved him back then? His body tensed as another possibility flashed in his mind. Just how did Sia know that a car accident had been the reason behind his left hand injury?
