“I’m going to the study.” Sebastian said coldly, his back facing Sia as he glared at the poor walls. “Is it just me, or did your dad suddenly became gloomy, Chubbles? Was it something I did?” Sia asked the dog confusedly.
That night at dinner, Sia waited at the dining table with the Chubbles in her arms while Butler Greg went to fetch Sebastian to eat. But the butler returned alone not long afterwards.
“You may eat first, Ms Anastasia. Mr Sebastian said he’s not hungry.” Butler Greg said with a polite bow. Sia bit her lower lip anxiously, debating what to do.
Is Sebastian really angry at her for always getting in trouble and relying on him?
“Okay, I understand.” She whispered dejectedly to the the bowl of rice in front of her, she suddenly lost her appetite as well.
But she couldn’t bring herself to say that to Mr Greg, so she took a few mouthfuls and handed the dog to the butler and returned upstairs to her room.
Unbeknownst to Sia, Sebastian was not busy in the study, in fact, he wasn’t doing anything at all. He simply refused to come downstairs hoping Sia would fetch him herself when he failed to show up.
Sia seemed to value the little stray dog more than him. Any person would be jealous in such situations, Sebastian was no different, thus he planned to give her the silent treatment until she talks to him first. The night stretched yet Sia still didn’t leave her room, she prepared to sleep, laying down on her fluffy blanket after taking a shower, but when she closed her eyes, Thomas’s dark and lustful face suddenly flashed in her mind.
Sia tossed and turned around on the bed, and was only able to fall asleep hugging the pink stuffed kitten Sebastian had gave her at the hotel during the storm night. Yet the incident during the day was etched deeply into her mind, and she ended up having nightmares during the night.
And in her dream, Sebastian was late this time around, Thomas was already approaching her step by step.
“Stay away, please don’t come closer.”
Sia shook her head desperately and pleaded, hoping to keep the molester away. But no matter how hard she begged him to stay away. Thomas kept approaching until the fruit knife she was holding ended up buried deeply in her throat, blood splattering all over Thomas’s face and body.
“Aaah!” Sia screamed shooting straight up on the bed, panting heavily as cold sweat covered her forehead. The loud scream reached Sebastian in the study, he ran over immediately, his sulking and silent treatment long forgotten.
“What happened, Sia!?” He asked finally arriving at her room and clutching her shoulders with both hands, trembling nervously.
“Blood, a lot of blood, Sebastian.” Sia whimpered. “Do you not care about me anymore?” She stared at him teary eyed.
“Shhh, it’s just a nightmare. How can I ever stop caring about you, Sia?” He gathered her in his arms rubbing her back soothingly.
“But I’ve caused you a lot of trouble in the little time we met.”
“It’s not your fault, kitten. Don’t blame yourself. I couldn’t accompany you to the cemetery because I was busy. I should have been there to protect you.”
“Will you stay here with me?”
Sia whispered instead. She can’t go back to sleep alone after that, the fear was still strong in her heart. Sebastian stilled at her word.
“Alright.” He answered curtly, voice tense with emotion.
He stretched beside her, pulling her into his arms as he laid down.
“You don’t have to be afraid anymore, I’m right by your side.”
The permanent cold mint scent wafting around Sebastian eased her body, and she find herself relaxing in
“When you didn’t you come out for dinner, Sebastian, I thought you didn’t want me anymore.” Sia mumbled, finally feeling slightly better. She had tons of questions for him when she went to bed. Sebastian raised his hand and spank her across her butt.
“Hey, why did you just hit me?” Sia yelped, twisting around in his hold.
“Stay still.” He tightened his grip, halting her movement.
“It’s not that I didn’t want to eat with you or that I stopped caring, I was actually waiting for you to come and call me. But the dog you picked off the street is all you cared about these days.”
Sebastian shamefully admitted, he never thought that one day he would be jealous of a dog.
“I don’t want you to put off your work because of me. I’ve hindered you so much.” Sia explained, clearing
up their misunderstanding that hovered around them for a while.
“Your business is mine, Sia. I would have gladly put off whatever I had to accompany to your grandfather’s anniversary.“
