Chapter 6 Losing Herself
Sasha found the manager and asked them to bring the first aid kit. Then, she grabbed Broderick’s hand and began to treat his wound.
Wanting to get to know Sasha, Charlie introduced himself several times.
Much to his disappointment, when Sasha was treating the wound, she mentally blocked out everything around her.
Although Broderick ignored Sasha, he did not stop her from cleaning his wound.
After carefully treating Broderick’s wound, Sasha reminded him, “The wound looks a little deep. Try to keep it dry for the next two days.”
At first, she thought Broderick would ignore her as before, so she got up and prepared to leave.
Unexpectedly, he suddenly asked, “Do you have a driving license?”
Sasha froze for a moment before realizing that Broderick was talking to her. “I do…”
However, Sasha had never driven on the road after getting her driving license.
Before she could finish her sentence, Broderick handed her the car keys and said, “You’ll be driving tonight.”
Sasha wanted to refuse Broderick at first. Nevertheless, after seeing the gauze wrapped around his hand, she realized that it was inconvenient for him to drive in that state. Besides, he had been drinking earlier.
“Well, he has helped me three times today. I’ll be an ungrateful person if I refuse to help him now,” she thought.
In the end, Sasha took the car keys.
Charlie narrowed his eyes at the direction the two had left.
“Driving? It feels like they’ll be doing something way more intimate than that!” he murmured.
Well, Charlie could not get the answer he wanted as the two had already left.
Sasha was confident while holding the steering wheel of Koenigsegg One, a supercar worth 15 million dollars.
“Isn’t driving just stepping on the brake and the accelerator and turning the steering wheel?” she mused.
Nevertheless, when Sasha passed an intersection, Broderick, sitting in the passenger seat nonchalantly just now, suddenly looked serious.
That was because someone mistook the accelerator for the brake and directly ran the red light.
Sasha nearly hit a vehicle crossing the road and caused a traffic jam.
“Are you sure you really have a driving license?”
“Yes, I do. But I haven’t driven since I got my driving license.”
Hearing the honking from other cars, Sasha began to feel unconfident. She turned and glanced at Broderick.
She noticed the light from outside the car window reflect on Broderick’s side profile, outlining his strong jawline that would make people’s hearts race.
Broderick looked back at her. Perhaps due to the light, Sasha felt his gaze was much deeper than before.
“It’s close to your apartment. Can you drive there safely?” he asked.
“I think so,” Sasha answered weakly, bereft of confidence.
When Sasha drove the car to the apartment building where she lived, she realized her back was drenched.
“I’m home. Should I call you a designated driver?”
Sasha did not want to touch the steering wheel of the car again. “If I damage this car, I’m afraid I’ll have to pay with my life,” she wondered.
Nonetheless, her question went unanswered as Broderick opened the car door and got out.
When Sasha caught up with him, she realized he was already standing in front of her apartment.
“Open the door,” he commanded curtly, his voice carrying an intimidating aura that people could not refuse.
The moment Sasha opened the door obediently, Broderick kissed her on the back of her neck. His hot breath began to surround her.
It was obvious what he wanted to do at that moment.
Sasha wanted to refuse him.
“It’s not a good thing if I keep fooling around with Felix’s uncle. Once people find out about our relationship, I’m afraid I will not only ruin my reputation but also lose my job,” she thought.
However, Sasha remembered how she fell asleep easily after having intercourse with Broderick last night.
It was the first time she did not think about her father’s death, her mother’s injury, her brother’s arrest, and their family’s future before she fell asleep after moving into this loft apartment.
She also did not have to worry about strangers breaking into her apartment.
What Sasha desired the most right now was the peace of mind she had not enjoyed for a long time.
Thinking of this, she suddenly withdrew her hands that were pushing Broderick away.
Even if it was just an illusion, Sasha still wanted to grasp this moment of inner peace.
Her acquiescence made Broderick’s movements even more unrestrained.
Compared to last night’s drunken state, Sasha was completely sober tonight.
She could feel herself getting sucked in by the whirlpool of desire, utterly losing herself.
