Read Exes to Lovers: A Remarriage Journey By Colette Drake Chapter 13 – Driving You away
Loria went upstairs mercilessly. Nicole clenched fists so hard that her nails were embedded in her palm.
She believed that Loria had no right to be so arrogant. Her father still controlled the Peters family, so this castle would become hers.
Nicole knew that she didn’t have to worry or rush anything.
Loria entered the familiar room, sat on the bed, and rubbed it carefully. However, she didn’t get back that familiar feeling.
At this moment, Dylan knocked on the door. “Ms. Loria.”
“Come in.” Loria sat up straight. “Is there something wrong?”
Dylan handed her a key. “This is the key to the warehouse of the castle. After your accident, Ms. Nicole took this place as her own. Then, she asked some people to throw out everything that belonged to you and your parents. However, I always believed that you hadn’t died. I
knew you would return someday.”
As he spoke, his eyes turned red. “So, I secretly collected your family’s belongings and put them in the warehouse. Fortunately, I have always been in charge of the warehouse, so nobody found out. You can get them back at any time.”
Loria took the key and held it tightly.
When she went to the warehouse, she saw that her family’s belongings were neatly placed, and there was no dust on them. Apparently.
Dylan came over to clean them every day.
“Thank you for always thinking of me.”
Dylan shook his head. “I should thank you, Ms. Loria. If it weren’t for you, I probably wouldn’t live on.”
Loria stepped forward and took a white rabbit plush from the pile of objects. Her favorite cosmos was embroidered on it.
Cosmos was a common flower that could be seen everywhere. It wasn’t very beautiful, but she liked what it represented: eternal
When she was a child, her biggest wish was to have her parents by her side so that her family would be happy forever.
Therefore, when they moved into the castle, her mother gave her this little bunny and countless cosmos flowers on the flower bed.
Her eyes turned red, but she rolled her eyes and didn’t cry because Dylan was still behind her.
She turned around and looked at him. Then, she realized that Dylan was tall and good–looking. He had pretty eyes and a high nose bridge,
and he looked like a male lead in romantic dramas.
“You don’t need to work here anymore.”
“What?” Dylan was taken aback. A trace of panic flashed across his face.
“Come to be my assistant. I’m short of hands.”
Dylan seemed to be flattered and paused for a second.
“You don’t want to?”
“I do, but…” Dylan seemed quite unconfident.
Loria knew what he would say, and she continued before he did. “I don’t want excuses. You can do this.”
Then, she took the rabbit plush and went out. When she reached the door, she turned around and ordered, “Ask someone to restore all these things.”
Half an hour later, Loria came out of the bathroom after showering. The room had been restored as before. It could be seen that Dylan had always remembered these tiny detalls.
As soon as she sat on the bed, her phone rang. She picked it up when she saw it was a video call from Wade.
“Mommy!” Sheila jumped up excitedly from the bed when she saw her mother on the screen.
Andre was worried that his sister would fall, so he quickly hugged her to protect her.
“Hey, babies. Did you do anything bad?” Loria smiled.
She had been exhausted these days, but the moment she saw her children, her tiredness instantly disappeared. This was probably the
power of maternal love.
“Of course not. We behaved well, right?” Sheila patted her chest proudly.
Andre nodded immediately. “Sheila behaved well today. Don’t worry. I will watch over her.”
Loria felt relieved as she looked at them.
Wade suddenly rushed over and broke the lovely meeting of the mother and children.
“How are you doing over there? When will you come back? My brothers never stopped calling me today. You can’t hide from them.
Loria smiled. “Everything is going well, and I’ll be back in a few days. Keep your brothers busy, and I’ll meet them after settling down.”
“Okay, come back as soon as possible. Call us whenever you need us.”
Although the Peters Group was in Kintoy, the branches she had signed the contract with were all in Hagan City. Therefore, she should
focus on Hagan City in the future.
This was also one of her plans. Ives was influential in Kintoy, and his men were everywhere. It would be difficult to take action. Therefore, it might be easier to make a career in Hagan City.
When the branch became stronger and could even compete with the headquarters in Kintoy, all the problems would be solved.
Probably because of tiredness or because she felt more at ease lying on her familiar bed, Loria slept very well.
She woke up at 8 am, then put on the tailored suit she had prepared in advance and makeup.
As soon as she opened the door and was about to go downstairs, she smelled something familiar.
When she went downstairs, she saw a hearty breakfast on the dining table. All the dishes were her favorite.
Loria only liked to drink freshly squeezed fruit juice; not many people knew about this habit.
The jam with the toast wasn’t the blueberry flavor she hated but the raspberry flavor she liked.
Was it Dylan?
He probably didn’t know her preferences that well.
Even her brothers didn’t know all of these secret preferences.
The person in the kitchen was still busy, and the familiar scent wafted over.
Soon, someone in an apron brought out the last plate of food.
“It really is you.”
