Broken Vows Second Chances by Gwen Hayes By Gwen Hayes Chapter 33

Chapter 33

Speaking of Max, Elizabeth recalled the scene she saw outside the bar last night.

She knew Max’s whereabout.

He was taken home by Becky.

As for what happened between them last night, Elizabeth felt that she didn’t even have

to guess it.

She was very upset, but she couldn’t show anything in front of Madam Hart, so she could only make an excuse for Max that would not be easy to see through.

“He stayed up late last night and didn’t get up today.”

After saying that, Elizabeth suddenly realized that what she said was true. Max had indeed stayed up all night, but no one knew what he did during that time..

When Madam Hart heard that, she said helplessly, “How could he still stay up late at this age?”

Elizabeth smiled and didn’t say anything.

Seeing her good temper, Madam Hart sighed, “You are the only one who can tolerate

his temper.”

“That’s exaggerated,” Elizabeth said in a low voice.

Elizabeth didn’t want to talk about this topic anymore, so she offered to put Madam Hart in a wheelchair and push her around the garden. Madam Hart agreed.

The paramedic pushed the wheelchair over and helped Madam Hart into it.

In fact, Madam Hart’s legs were not serious, but she couldn’t walk for a long time. It

was fine for her to walk a few steps in the room, but she couldn’t go out alone.

After Madam Hart sat in the wheelchair, Elizabeth opened the door of the cabinet with

ease, took out a thick shawl and thick blanket from inside, put them all on Madam Hart, and then pushed her out.

Madam Hart touched the furry shawl on her body contentedly, and sighed, “This material is so comfortable. I remember when I was young, I still thought it was bulky.

Now I like it, but it’s a pity that I’m not young anymore.”

Elizabeth heard that there seemed to be regret in her tone, so she comforted her in time.

“Grandma, I think that this kind of inaterial is more suitable for you now. It is so beautiful to match with your custom-made cheongsam. I have always been very envious. of your beauty and temperament.”

This was the truth.

The women of the Hart family were all very beautiful.

Whether it was Madam Hart or Melissa.

The men of the Hart family had a good taste on women.

Speaking of this, Elizabeth couldn’t help but said, “Grandma, tell you what, when I first

saw you and Melissa at a dinner party, I thought you were sisters.”

Elizabeth was still young at that time. When she saw them standing together, she did

think they were sisters.

Madam Hart was amused, and she spoke happily.

“You are glib. I’m convinced, and I instantly feel that I’m not that old.”

As soon as she said that, Elizabeth bent down and put her arms around Madam Hart’s shoulders and hugged her.

“You are not old. And I love you very much.”

Madam Hart was really nice to Elizabeth.

And Elizabeth also liked her very much. Not because of Max, nor because she became the daughter-in-law of the Hart family.

Madam Hart was very kind to Elizabeth since she was a little girl.

Elizabeth’s grandma passed away early, and she had no mother, so the pampering

Madam Hart gave her seemed to fill her regrets.

It was like that she was her real grandma.

Even if she divorced Max in the future…

Thinking of this, Elizabeth hugged Madam Hart a little tighter and said, “You will always be my real grandma.”

When they were about to exit, a person walked towards them.

He was tall and thin and handsome, but his

eyes were cold.

When Elizabeth saw him, she paused.

Madam Hart was very surprised to see Max here.

“Grandma,” Max called Madam Hart in a deep voice.

His voice was slightly hoarse, revealing a touch of melancholy sexiness.

Elizabeth snorted lightly, and the voice was very small, almost inaudible.

But Max seemed to have caught it, and he looked at her deeply.

“What’s the matter with you? Elizabeth said that you stayed up late and didn’t get up today. I thought you wouldn’t come.”

Max never expected that Elizabeth would find such an excuse for him.

He pursed his thin lips and then said to Madam Hart in a flattering voice, “Don’t talk about staying up all late, even if I stay up all night, I have to come to see you.

“Disgusting,” Madam Hart commented him, but the pleased smile on her face couldn’t

be hid.

Max walked towards Elizabeth and said, “Let me push.”

When he approached her, Elizabeth smelled that he didn’t have smell of alcohol, but

had a very fresh scent of soap.

Not only that, his clothes were not the same as last night’s. The black shirt inside was ironed neatly.

Elizabeth thought that she could guess who did this for him.

Probably that Becky ironed the clothes for him after they spent the night together.

While Elizabeth was thinking, Max was already very close to her.

Seeing that Max’s hands were about to fall onto the wheelchair, Elizabeth quickly withdrew her hands and took two steps back to keep a distance from him.

It seemed that she treated Max as some kind of monster.

Max froze suddenly because of her sudden movements.

A few seconds later, his handsome face darkened, and a cold aura emanated from his

whole body.

Originally, his heart softened a lot after hearing the conjectures Ryan said.

Max sneered in his heart.

It seemed that he just thought too much.

“What’s wrong?”

Madam Hart asked curiously. She didn’t know why Max didn’t push her after he walked

to Elizabeth.

Hearing that, Max came back to his senses and sneered.

“Nothing, grandma. Let’s go.”

Max pushed Madam Hart towards the garden, and Elizabeth followed them.

In the past, when they accompanied Madam Hart to the garden, Max would push the wheelchair, and Elizabeth would hold his arm or grab at the hem of his clothes.

Sometimes she was just like his clingy tail.

But today, Elizabeth kept a distance from Max, as if they were not husband and wife,

but strangers.

Max’s face became more and more gloomy, and his breath became colder and colder.

He suddenly stopped.

“Grandma, I have to text someone,” he said.

Madam Hart didn’t feel that there was anything wrong, so she nodded.

After that, Max took out his phone and tapped something on the screen with his fingers.

Seeing that, Elizabeth looked away expressionlessly.

She thought that he was sending a message to Becky. “They are so deeply attached to each other,” she thought.

Elizabeth couldn’t control herself at all. She felt so jealous.

Feeling her phone in the bag vibrated, she didn’t think much about it and just took it out impatiently to take a look.

Elizabeth paused.

Max sent her a text message.

[Are you standing so far away from me to make Grandma doubt our relationship?]
