Broken Vows Second Chances by Gwen Hayes By Gwen Hayes Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Since she deleted the text message on Max’s phone that day, Becky had been uneasy

until now.

She guessed Elizabeth didn’t dare to tell Max the news in person since she texted him.

However, Becky was worried and planned to ask Max out that day.

Max couldn’t go because he had to work overtime.

Becky wouldn’t relax. She stayed with him at the company and took him to meet her friends after he got off work.

Max went with her and got drunk, unconscious.

Meanwhile, Becky called Elizabeth, who lost her composure and hung up.

Becky was delighted.

Elizabeth’s reaction showed she was disappointed, and Becky only needed to reveal that Max asked Elizabeth to have an abortion. Becky thought Elizabeth would give up if she offered to compensate the latter.

However, Becky couldn’t approach Elizabeth herself, lest Max find out in the future and

blame her.

Therefore, Becky told her friends about this and asked them to help her.

As expected, her friends agreed.

To their surprise, Elizabeth didn’t come.

What on earth did she want?

Did she intend to use the baby to threaten Max?

Although Becky didn’t think this baby could change Max’s mind, she was worried and thought she should deal with it as soon as possible.

Thinking of this, Becky said, “Since she doesn’t want to come, we can go see her.”

“Go see her? She has done such a despicable thing. Why do you go see her?”

“That’s right, Becky. She’s shameless. We should ask her to come.”

Becky smiled awkwardly. “We have to solve it.”

Seeing Becky’s awkward smile, her two friends had no choice but to change their minds.

“Okay, let’s go see her then.”

After Elizabeth returned home, she locked herself in the room alone.

Max went to work, and she was alone in the room.

After a while, her cell phone rang.

Elizabeth glanced at it. It was the girl who had called her just now.

She looked at the phone until it stopped ringing. After a while, it rang again.

A few seconds later, Elizabeth turned off the phone and blocklisted the number.

Becky’s friend? What did her friend have to do with this?

Elizabeth didn’t bother to talk to them. It was a waste of time.

Elizabeth was thinking of Laura, whom she met in the hospital.

Laura looked delicate, but she seemed to have infinite power and dared to tell her dominating and mean mother that she liked her boyfriend.

She seemed to know firmly what she wanted and what she liked.

Elizabeth thought, “How about me?”

Thinking of this, Elizabeth subconsciously reached out to touch her lower abdomen.

She could feel nothing as the baby was too small. When she learned about her pregnancy, she was overjoyed and wanted to share the news with Max.

When she realized she was going to have an abortion in the consulting room, flash of dull pain in her heart.

she felt a

It showed that she wanted to have the baby.

Since she wanted the baby, why would she get rid of it?

She could bring up the baby on her own. She would have had difficulties surviving two years ago, but now she could raise a child.’

But she would be a single mother.

Elizabeth closed her eyes weakly. She was stumped.

Her phone rang again, and it was another unknown number this time.

It was evidently another friend of Becky.

When Elizabeth was about to hang up, she thought of something and picked up the

phone.

She didn’t peak, and the person at the other end of the line was silent.

After a long while, Elizabeth heard Becky’s voice.

“Elizabeth, this is Becky speaking…”

Her friend couldn’t help her, so could Becky make the call herself?

Elizabeth gave a faint smile and said, “Hi.”

“Can we have a meet?” As if afraid that Elizabeth would refuse, Becky continued, “Give

me the address, and I will come to see you.”

Elizabeth thought for a while and pressed her lips. “I’m at home.”

Becky was silent for a long time before asking, “What do you mean?”

“You can come directly.”

Becky was speechless.

A long silence fell upon them. Elizabeth pressed her lips and said, “I’m tired today, and I don’t want to go out.”

After a long while, Becky said, “Okay, I’ll come to you.”

After hanging up the phone, Elizabeth suddenly made a decision.

She would keep this baby!

Why did Becky come to her at this time? After Elizabeth said she was at the Hart’s, Becky insisted on coming to see her. She might have only one purpose.

Becky came quickly, and within fifteen minutes, a servant came up to inform Elizabeth.

“I got it.”

Elizabeth took a shawl and went downstairs.

“Miss Gabriel, here is your coffee.”

A maid brought the coffee to Becky, and Becky thanked the maid. Becky looked up and saw Elizabeth walking downstairs.

In just a few days, Elizabeth looked much thinner. She looked unworldly in a light blue

dress with a white shawl.

Elizabeth didn’t wear any makeup. Her face was pale, and her lips were light pink. She

looked delicate and beautiful.

Becky clenched and unclenched her fists after taking a glance at Elizabeth.

She couldn’t allow such a woman to stay with Max all day and night.

Just as Becky was thinking about it, the maid greeted Elizabeth, bring Becky back to the

present.

The maid handed a cup of hot chocolate to Elizabeth and said with a smile, “Mrs. Hart,

the hot chocolate today is nice, and the temperature is right.”

Hearing this, Elizabeth picked up the cup and took a sip, praising the maid.

“It’s delicious.”

“Thank you, Mrs. Hart. I’ll go back to work.”

“Go ahead.”

The maid was delighted by Elizabeth’s compliment and happily left with the tray. She didn’t talk to Becky after serving her the coffee.

Becky looked at her seat and then glanced at Elizabeth’s seat and clothes.

It dawned on Becky.

Now in the eyes of everyone, Elizabeth was Mrs. Hart.

Becky thought these things should belong to her, but now…

Becky pulled a long face. She could hardly control her emotion.

Would she have been Mrs. Hart if she hadn’t gone abroad then?

Thinking of this, Becky forced a smile.

“The servants here respect you very much.”

Her words surprised Elizabeth, who gave her a strange look and nodded. “Well, they are all very nice.”

Lincoln chose some of the servants at home, and Elizabeth chose the rest of them.

Becky could hardly smile.

“I will thank you in advance.”

“Why?”

“You have trained the servant so well, and it will be convenient for me in the future.”

Hearing this, Elizabeth paused drinking the hot chocolate and raised her delicate eyebrows slightly.
