“When I chose you, I could make you the center of attention and even allow you to stand side by side with me. But when I gave up on you, you were worthless in my eyes. Why would I humiliate myself for you? You’re overestimating yourself!”

“In the past, I liked you because I was inexperienced. Now that I’ve met someone better, I naturally won’t take you seriously. So, Mr. Smith, don’t flatter yourself!”

Every word she said seemed to be filled with sarcasm and disdain.

After saying that, Rachel did not even look at him and walked straight towards the door of the Johnson Corporation building.

Logically speaking, after breaking up, Louis Smith shouldn’t be criticizing Rachel’s life.

He also knew that the best condition for exes was to not contact each other and not disturb each other.

He understood all these principles.

However, when he saw Rachel going out with another man and kissing him, he could not control his emotions. He felt absolutely disgusted and his heart ached as if it had been pricked by needles.

Could it be that Rachel could really pretend that nothing had happened between them after that heart-wrenching relationship of three years?

There wasn’t even the least bit of sadness or pain?

“Rachel, we just broke up, and you’re already embroiled with another man. Do you dare to say that this man has nothing to do with you?!”

In other words, the relationship between Rachel and David was already ambiguous long

Hearing the deeper meaning hidden in his words, Rachel stopped in her tracks. She narrowed her eyes, which flickered with a cold light. “Louis Smith, I advise you not to test my patience!”

Her voice was like the frost of winter, and her calm gaze was sharp, making one shudder.

Facing her gaze, Louis’ heart skipped a beat, and he subconsciously held his breath.

When Rachel turned around and left, he felt the frozen blood in his body begin to flow again.

“Mr. Smith, are we still going in?” The assistant standing at the side asked carefully as he looked at Rachel’s back and then at the sullen Louis.

Louis frowned slightly. Only then did he remember why he came here.

“Is everything ready?”

“It’s all here.”

The assistant patted the document bag he carried with him.

Louis nodded slightly, adjusted his tie, and walked towards the Johnson Corporation’s building.

However, she did not expect to be stopped by the security guard at the door as soon as she walked in. “Stop! Who are you?!”

“We’re from Smith Group. We want to see Ms. Grey.” The assistant looked at the security. guard in front of him with disdain.

The security guard thought of the new order he had just received and said with a straight face, “You can’t go in.”

“Why can’t we go in?!” There was a hint of displeasure on the assistant’s face.

The security guard said expressionlessly, “Because you’re from the Smith Group. To be honest, the higher-ups have just issued a new order. We won’t see anyone from the Smith Group! So, please leave!”

Louis’ expression turned sullen when he heard that. Even his voice was subconsciously cold. “Is this Ms. Grey’s idea?”

“No comment!” the security guard said.

After being rejected, the two of them naturally would not stay long downstairs at the Johnson Corporation building.

However, before leaving, the assistant hesitated for a moment before saying, “Mr. Smith, Miss Grey walked in unimpeded just now, which means that she must be related to the Johnson Corporation. Coincidentally, the new CEO of the Johnson Corporation has the last name ‘Grey’. Do you think Miss Grey is…”

He felt that everything was too coincidental.
